Overview
A remote Legal Counsel position is available to provide essential legal advice and support to various internal teams. This role focuses on ensuring compliance and supporting strategic initiatives, impacting both internal and external stakeholders. The position requires legal expertise combined with effective communication skills to ensure all legal practices meet regulatory standards. Collaboration with diverse teams and management of legal tasks are key components of this role.
Responsibilities
- Provide tactical legal advice and support to internal clients including pharmacy benefit management (PBM), pharmacy, specialty pharmacy, and government programs.
- Conduct legal research, draft documents, and handle transactional work related to legal matters.
- Manage litigation efforts for assigned business areas as needed.
- Advise internal clients on compliance with regulatory requirements and corporate policies.
- Develop and facilitate legal training sessions.
- Investigate legal issues as required.
- Provide client training on legal principles.
- Coordinate partnerships with in-house and external legal resources.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree.
- Current license to practice law in the state of residence.
- Minimum of 5 years practicing as an attorney or equivalent legal experience in regulatory or compliance roles.
- At least 3 years of experience working with managed care companies or other healthcare clients.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks with competing priorities effectively.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships across all organizational levels.
- Proven ability to simplify complex legal concepts into clear and compelling communications.
- Expert communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.
Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive salary ranging from $124,000 to $211,000 annually, based on experience and skills.
