Overview

This role focuses on managing a community-powered AI co-pilot designed for in-house legal teams. The AI tool leverages a decade of peer discussions, vetted templates, outside counsel reviews, and benchmarking data from over 6,000 in-house legal leaders to provide insights on what similar organizations do, rather than just standard legal procedures.

The Legal AI Product Manager will deeply understand the system's extensive prompts, diagnose issues in AI responses, track AI model updates, identify content gaps, and lead new feature launches with community members and publicly.

This position is ideal for a mid-career lawyer with 5–10 years of experience in big law and in-house roles who has actively developed AI skills, agents, and workflows, and is eager to focus fully on AI and product development.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary user by testing and iterating on features using legal expertise until they meet high standards.
  • Collaborate directly with engineering in real time, participating in decision-making and development without traditional handoff processes.
  • Develop prototypes, design mocks, fixes, and feature drafts independently using Claude Code.
  • Manage member feedback through design partner programs and evaluations, translating input into specific prompt, data, retrieval, and UI improvements.
  • Maintain and refine over 40 pages of system prompts, diagnosing and resolving issues in AI responses.
  • Identify and fill knowledge gaps by sourcing member contributions, law firm partnerships, licensed data, original research, and event content.
  • Stay current with AI advancements, assessing their impact on the product and proposing actionable integrations.
  • Lead go-to-market efforts to drive activation, engagement, and adoption via owned channels including community platforms and email.
  • Create marketing content such as launch posts, member communications, social media presence, and podcasts, acting as a visible advocate for the AI product.

Requirements

  • 5–10 years of legal experience, ideally including both big law and in-house roles.
  • Interest in transitioning from a purely legal role to one combining business, product management, and AI.
  • Proven experience shipping AI-related skills, agents, workflows, plugins, or connectors with tangible outputs.
  • Active engagement with the latest AI technologies and trends, with the ability to evaluate their relevance and potential.
  • Strong written communication skills capable of producing launch posts, emails, and feature specifications.
  • High autonomy and low ego, comfortable working closely with founders and executing independently.
  • A community-oriented mindset with a passion for supporting peer in-house counsel.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Publicly available work in the legal AI space such as blogs or social media.
  • Experience participating in product launches, go-to-market strategies, or community-led growth initiatives.
  • AI tools or products built that are actively used by others.
