Overview
This role involves managing a community-powered AI co-pilot designed for in-house legal teams. The AI tool is built on a decade of peer discussions, vetted templates, outside counsel reviews, and benchmarking data from over 6,000 in-house legal leaders. Unlike other legal AI tools that answer "what do we usually do?", this AI answers "what does everyone else like us do?" by leveraging peer judgment as a key differentiator.
The Legal AI Product Manager will deeply understand the system's extensive prompts, diagnose response issues at various layers (prompt, data, retrieval, or model), track AI releases, identify content gaps, and lead new feature launches with members and publicly.
Responsibilities
- Act as the primary user by leveraging legal expertise to rapidly test and iterate on features until they meet high standards for peer release.
- Collaborate in real time with engineering teams, participating directly in development and decision-making without traditional handoff processes.
- Develop prototypes, mockups, fixes, and feature drafts independently using Claude Code, enhancing team throughput.
- Manage member feedback by running design partner programs and evaluations, translating feedback into concrete improvements in prompts, data, retrieval, and user interface.
- Maintain and improve system prompts and response quality by diagnosing and iterating on issues.
- Continuously identify and fill knowledge gaps through member contributions, law firm partnerships, licensed data, original research, and event content.
- Stay current with AI advancements, assessing their impact on the product and proposing actionable enhancements.
- Drive go-to-market efforts including activation, engagement, and adoption through owned channels such as the community platform, member emails, and design partner amplification.
- Represent the product publicly through launch posts, member communications, social media presence, and podcasts.
Requirements
- 5–10 years of legal experience, ideally including both large law firms and in-house roles.
- At a career transition point, eager to move from a purely legal role to one combining business, product, and AI.
- Proven experience shipping AI skills, agents, and workflows with tangible artifacts such as published Claude Skills, live GPTs or agents, workflows, automations, plugins, connectors, or documented prompt experiments and evaluations.
- Active engagement with cutting-edge AI technology, including following top influencers and quickly assessing new models or technologies for product relevance.
- Strong written communication skills capable of producing launch posts, member emails, and feature specifications.
- High autonomy and low ego, comfortable working closely with founders and executing independently.
- A community-oriented mindset with a passion for supporting peer in-house counsel.
Preferred Qualifications
- Publicly available work in the legal AI space (e.g., LinkedIn, social media, blog).
- Experience participating in product launches, go-to-market strategies, or community-led growth initiatives.
- Ownership of AI tools actively used by others beyond the creator.
