Overview
A Nashville-based investment firm specializing in the acquisition and management of commercial real estate across multiple U.S. markets is seeking a Legal Counsel. This role involves providing comprehensive legal support across diverse business operations including retail, office, industrial, and residential assets, as well as company acquisitions primarily in the greater Nashville area.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a trusted legal advisor to the Founder & CEO, leadership team, and key stakeholders, supporting strategic business decisions.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of contracts such as sales agreements, vendor contracts, partnership agreements, and mergers and acquisitions (M&A) deals.
- Ensure compliance with local, national, and international laws, focusing on data privacy and governance.
- Manage litigation processes, collaborate with external counsel, and develop strategies to mitigate legal risks.
- Oversee and manage the intellectual property portfolio, including patents, trademarks, and copyrights.
- Lead M&A activities including due diligence, deal structuring, negotiation, and post-transaction integration.
- Collaborate with Human Resources on employment law matters, employee relations, policy compliance, and dispute resolution.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of legal experience in law firms or in-house roles.
- Strong skills in drafting and negotiating contracts with expertise in employment law, M&A, litigation, and compliance.
- Knowledge of global compliance, data privacy, and regulatory requirements.
- Effective communication skills and ability to build strong relationships with executives and cross-functional teams.
- Self-starter comfortable working independently as the sole legal resource in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
- Must reside in or be willing to relocate to Nashville, Tennessee for on-site collaboration.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without employer visa sponsorship.

- Experience providing legal counsel in a high-growth, diverse business environment.
- Ability to manage multiple legal areas including commercial real estate, corporate transactions, and employment matters.
Compensation & Benefits
- Annual salary range: $100,000 to $150,000 USD.
- Total annual compensation including bonuses: $110,000 to $180,000 USD.
