Overview

A partner organization is seeking a Legal Counsel to provide essential legal advice and support to various internal teams. This remote role involves facilitating compliance and strategic initiatives, ensuring legal integrity across operations that impact both internal and external stakeholders. The position requires legal expertise combined with effective communication skills to support all organizational levels and maintain regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

  • Provide tactical legal advice and support to internal clients including PBM, pharmacy, specialty pharmacy, and government programs.
  • Conduct legal research, draft documents, and handle transactional work related to legal matters.
  • Manage litigation efforts for assigned business areas as needed.
  • Advise internal clients on compliance with regulatory requirements and corporate policies.
  • Develop and deliver legal training and investigate issues when necessary.
  • Provide client training on legal principles.
  • Coordinate partnerships with in-house and external legal resources.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.
  • Current license to practice law in the state of residence.
  • Minimum of 5 years practicing as an attorney or in a related legal role focused on regulatory or compliance matters.
  • At least 3 years of experience working with managed care companies or other healthcare clients.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with competing priorities effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships across all organizational levels.
  • Proven ability to simplify complex legal concepts into clear, concise communications.
  • Expert communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.
