Litigation Attorney

Overview

An established, multi-state real estate and creditors’ rights law firm is seeking a qualified Litigation Associate Attorney to support its Virginia practice group.

This role involves handling a high-volume caseload focused on creditors’ rights and real estate litigation matters. The associate attorney will draft pleadings, conduct legal research, manage discovery, and support motion practice and case progression from inception through resolution.

Responsibilities

• Manage a high-volume caseload involving creditors’ rights and real estate litigation matters
• Draft pleadings and other legal documents
• Conduct legal research
• Manage discovery
• Support motion practice and case progression from inception through resolution
• Collaborate with attorneys, clients, and internal teams across multiple jurisdictions
• Proactively utilize firm case management and reporting software to manage assigned matters
• Provide superior client care and proactive communication
• Participate in court appearances, including some attendant travel as required

Requirements

• Member in good standing of the Virginia State Bar
• 5+ years of experience in real estate, civil litigation, and/or creditors’ rights practice
• Willing and able to proactively utilize the firm’s case management and reporting software to actively manage assigned matters
• Strong foundation in civil procedure and motions practice
• Knowledge of Title & Lien Priority, Title Claim, Foreclosure, Eviction, TILA, RESPA, FDCPA, and the creditors’ rights practice generally
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Self-starter mindset with strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Additional bar licenses are a plus
