Overview
Permanent, full-time Litigation Paralegal position available in Los Angeles or San Francisco offices supporting the Dispute Resolution practice.
Responsibilities
- Support attorneys in all phases of litigation for complex, multi-jurisdictional cases involving commercial litigation, contract disputes, asset recovery, board and shareholder disputes, insolvency, fraud, arbitration, public international law, tax controversy, media and reputation management, employment and regulatory matters, family law, trusts and succession, white collar investigations, and professional negligence.
- Manage large volumes of documents, including production of hardcopy and electronic materials, maintaining chain of custody, preparing privilege logs, and handling logistics of document productions.
- Organize and maintain electronic and hard-copy case files on firmwide platforms.
- Assist with preparation of statements, declarations, briefs, and other legal documents for court filing, including proofreading, cite checking, formatting, compiling exhibits, filing, and service.
- Conduct factual and legal research using Westlaw and other resources.
- Maintain case calendars and track deadlines using firm operating systems.
- Prepare for depositions, conferences, hearings, trials, mediations, and arbitrations by compiling documents, managing exhibits, and assisting with logistics.
- Provide support across various eDiscovery platforms.
- Occasionally travel to courthouses and agencies to file, retrieve, and deliver documents.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required; Paralegal Certificate preferred.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Litigation Paralegal.
- Strong technical skills with excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, iManage, and Elite.
- Experience with electronic filing in California State Courts and U.S. District Courts (PACER), including familiarity with relevant rules.
- Proficiency in online legal research tools such as Westlaw.
- Ability to navigate electronic databases and document repositories.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, planning, and communication skills with strong attention to detail.
- Experience staging documents and exhibits for attorney review.
- Strong research, drafting, writing, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Excellent grammar, spelling, punctuation, and document formatting skills.
- Willingness to travel and work overtime as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of CS Disco and Milana docketing and calendar management systems preferred but not required.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range for California positions: $80,000 to $115,000, commensurate with experience and other factors permitted by law.
