Overview
This role is an engagement-based Litigation Paralegal position supporting an established employment litigation defense firm. The engagement is remote and full-time (30–35 hours/week), and is ongoing with potential to convert to a permanent placement for the right candidate. Work involves hands-on litigation support across active docket and filing tasks.
Responsibilities
- Handle pleadings and discovery from drafting through service and filing.
- E-file documents in California state courts and stay current on local court rules.
- Calendar deadlines and manage docketing across active litigation matters, including covering docketing when additional support is needed.
- Prepare and organize trial materials, including exhibits, trial binders, and witness/exhibit lists.
- Maintain document organization and privilege logs; handle Bates stamping and document production.
- Liaise with clients, experts, and court personnel as needed.
- Produce polished, error-free work product across correspondence and filings.
Requirements
- 5+ years of litigation experience in California, including hands-on work with pleadings, discovery, calendaring, transcription, and e-filing in California courts.
- Familiarity with e-filing procedures and court rules in California state courts.
- Excellent word processing and proofreading skills; proficient in Word and Outlook.
- Paralegal certification preferred.
- Flexible, team-oriented approach; comfortable pitching in wherever the docket needs it.
- Available to start immediately.

Compensation & Benefits
- Pay: Annualized pay for this position ranges from $60,000 - $90,000 when calculated on a full-time basis. Pay for contract engagements is based on multiple factors including work experience, qualifications, credentials, location, market supply/demand, and the candidate’s preference.
- Benefits: In addition to salary, W2 employees are eligible for full benefits when working in roles for 20 hours per week, including a Qualified 401k plan.
