Overview
The organization is seeking Paralegals with California civil litigation and discovery experience to support a growing California Staff Counsel team. This is a virtual (remote) position with CA discovery experience required.

Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys in answering interrogatories by interviewing clients, reducing answers to writing, reviewing with attorneys, and preparing answers in final form.
- Obtain, review, and summarize medical records as directed by trial attorneys; arrange for medical examinations; have records reviewed by experts as necessary.
- Assist attorneys in preparing motions and research legal points in connection with those motions.
- Assist attorneys in interviewing witnesses preparatory to and during trials as necessary.
- Assist in preparing documents and evidence for trial.
- Perform other legal support functions as assigned.
Physical Actions
- This role, whether performed virtually or in an office setting, includes normal and customary distractions, noise, and interruptions.
- Sit or stand for extended periods of time, up to a full work shift.
- Occasionally reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
- Occasionally move, lift, carry, and place objects and supplies weighing 0–10 pounds without assistance.
- Listen to, interpret, and differentiate auditory information (e.g., others speaking) at normal speaking levels with or without correction.
- Visually verify and read information; visually locate material, resources, and other objects.
- Ability to continuously operate a computer for extended periods of time, up to a full work shift.
- Physical dexterity sufficient to use hands, arms, and shoulders repetitively to operate a keyboard and other office equipment up to a full work shift.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- 2 year Associates Degree OR 3 years experience working as a Paralegal.
- AND Paralegal certificate or a degree in paralegal studies or the completion of at least one year of law school.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Paralegal certificate from American Bar Association (ABA) approved program.
- One year experience working in a civil litigation law firm.
Compensation & Benefits
