Overview

An established international labor and employment law firm is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to join their team. This full-time remote position is based in Charlotte and involves supporting attorneys in delivering high-quality legal services.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain and manage client documents, including electronic data, and identify potentially relevant materials for cases.
  • Conduct litigation, criminal, and civil background checks; obtain authenticated records as needed.
  • Draft various legal documents for attorney review, such as removal documents, certificates of interested parties, answers, initial disclosures, motions, orders, scheduling orders, protective orders, deposition notices, affidavits, declarations, discovery requests and responses, settlement agreements, and dismissal documents.
  • Assist in preparing motions for summary judgment, including checking deposition citations, assembling exhibits, and creating appendices.
  • Identify and prepare all documents for production, including Bates labeling and redacting privileged or confidential information.
  • Assist in trial preparation by managing exhibits, evidentiary matters, witness lists, files, subpoenas, coordinating and attending witness preparation meetings, and providing assistance during trial.
  • Conduct online legal research and efficiently utilize electronic resources.
  • Manage multiple assignments and deadlines while maintaining professionalism and seeking assistance when necessary.
  • Support colleagues as needed.
  • Review vendor invoices for accuracy and submit them timely for processing.

Requirements

  • Minimum of five years of litigation paralegal experience.
  • Experience specifically in labor and employment litigation.
  • Bachelor's degree or relevant work experience.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and project management abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize effectively and perform well under pressure.
  • Familiarity with various state and federal jurisdictions.
  • High motivation, reliability, flexibility, curiosity, and strong teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Adaptability to fast-paced and changing environments.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and other office tools.
  • Experience with document review software, eDiscovery technology, and document management systems.
  • Experience with Relativity and/or Everlaw is strongly preferred.

  • Hourly rate range: $35.89 to $66.72, determined by factors including location, experience, skills, qualifications, and internal equity.

Location

  • This is a remote position based in Charlotte.

Additional Information

  • The performance year for billable hours runs from October 1 to September 30, with an expectation of 1500 or more recorded billable hours.
  • The paralegal role involves substantive legal support under attorney supervision but does not include providing legal advice.
  • Relocation costs are not covered.
