Overview

A boutique commercial litigation and business law firm serving clients in New York and Florida is seeking a Managing Attorney for its Commercial and Business Litigation Practice. This fully remote position focuses on partnership disputes and business divorces, combining leadership responsibilities with active litigation practice.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as lead counsel on complex commercial litigation matters, particularly partnership disputes and business divorces
  • Manage an active caseload from intake through resolution
  • Develop and implement litigation strategies aligned with client goals and firm standards
  • Supervise and mentor Senior Associates and Associates, providing strategic guidance and feedback
  • Review pleadings, motions, discovery, and other work product to ensure quality and consistency
  • Delegate tasks appropriately while maintaining accountability for case outcomes
  • Handle all litigation stages including motion practice, discovery, depositions, trial preparation, and negotiations
  • Provide strategic and practical counsel to business clients
  • Collaborate with firm leadership on case strategy, staffing, and practice development
  • Contribute to attorney development through mentorship, coaching, and training
  • Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and courts
  • Support firm growth through leadership and operational discipline

Requirements

  • Minimum 15 years of litigation experience with a strong record in business disputes
  • Trial-ready with experience trying at least 5 cases and conducting 40 or more substantive depositions
  • Proven experience managing or supervising attorneys with ability to provide clear strategic direction and mentorship
  • Expertise in motion practice, oral advocacy, and case strategy
  • Skilled in handling complex partnership disputes with strategic toughness and diplomacy
  • Licensed to practice in New York; admission in Florida is a plus
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and reliable with excellent time management skills
  • Proficient with technology and case management systems
  • Self-motivated and accountable, capable of managing independent caseload and supervisory duties
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Committed to delivering client-focused, business-minded legal solutions

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive base salary ranging from $200,000 to $265,000, commensurate with experience
