Overview

A national law firm with offices across all 50 states is seeking a Maritime Attorney for its Bay Area location. This role offers the possibility of remote work from home.

Ideal candidates will have three to six years of experience in Maritime law, though all experience levels and those with transferable experience in asbestos or occupational disease litigation will be considered. Candidates should be driven team players with strong litigation, writing, and persuasive speaking skills, possess a solid academic background, demonstrate proven research abilities, and be self-starters capable of managing assignments with minimal supervision.

Candidates must be licensed to practice law in California. An LLM in Maritime Law is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Handle maritime law cases, including litigation and research
  • Prepare persuasive legal documents and conduct thorough legal research
  • Collaborate effectively with team members
  • Manage assignments independently with minimal supervision

Requirements

  • Licensed to practice law in California
  • Three to six years of experience in Maritime law preferred; other relevant litigation experience considered
  • Strong litigation, writing, and oral advocacy skills
  • Proven research capabilities
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive salary ranging from $100,000 to $275,000 annually, depending on experience and position level:
    • Associates: $100,000 - $150,000
    • Senior Counsel/Of Counsel: $140,000 - $200,000
    • Partners: $190,000 - $275,000
