Overview

A law firm is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Paralegal to support its California practice. This role involves working closely with attorneys and legal staff to prepare documents, organize case information, track deadlines, coordinate filings, and assist with court-related tasks. The position may be remote.

Responsibilities

  • Assist attorneys with California court matters, including foreclosure-related and creditor-related cases.
  • Prepare, review, organize, and file legal documents.
  • Track deadlines, hearing dates, filing requirements, and service requirements.
  • Communicate professionally with attorneys, court personnel, clients, vendors, and internal team members.
  • Maintain organized files and help ensure matters are handled accurately, efficiently, and on time.

Requirements

  • Prior paralegal or legal support experience in a law firm, legal department, or similar professional environment.
  • Practical knowledge of California court procedures, filing requirements, local rules, and hearing calendars.
  • Experience with creditors’ rights, foreclosure, real estate, or related financial services matters preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities with accuracy and attention to detail.

Preferred Skills and Abilities

  • Strong organization, follow-through, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work well with attorneys, staff, clients, courts, and outside vendors in a professional and collaborative manner.
  • Comfortable using legal technology, case management systems, e-filing platforms, Microsoft Office, and general office tools.
  • Clear and professional written, verbal, and electronic communication skills.

Education and Training

  • Paralegal certificate, associate degree, bachelor’s degree, or equivalent legal experience preferred.
  • Prior experience supporting California court matters preferred.
  • Training or experience with court filing systems, case management platforms, or legal document preparation is a plus.
