Overview
A legal team is seeking a highly experienced Medical Chronologies Paralegal with 5-10 years of experience. This role involves creating detailed medical chronologies to support complex litigation and legal cases by compiling and organizing medical records accurately and efficiently. The position requires leveraging extensive paralegal expertise and knowledge across various legal disciplines to contribute to high-stakes legal proceedings.
Responsibilities
- Develop detailed medical chronologies by reviewing and organizing extensive medical records, reports, and related documentation from multiple healthcare providers and institutions.
- Collaborate with attorneys to understand case-specific requirements, ensuring chronologies align with legal strategies and deadlines.
- Conduct comprehensive legal research across a broad range of practice areas.
- Review and proofread legal documents for accuracy and consistency.
- Prepare summaries and reports highlighting key medical findings relevant to case issues.
- Perform precise data entry into legal case management systems.
- Maintain meticulous filing systems, both electronic and physical.
- Conduct interviews with clients or witnesses to clarify medical histories or gather additional case-relevant information.
- Support attorneys with administrative tasks including scheduling meetings, managing correspondence, and preparing legal drafts related to medical chronologies or other case documents.
Qualifications
- Extensive paralegal experience focused on medical record review and chronology creation in complex litigation.
- Proven expertise in multiple practice areas such as estate planning, environmental law, workers' compensation, personal injury, tribal law and regulations, patent law, immigration law, family law, securities law, landlord-tenant law, and litigation procedures.
- Proficiency with legal research tools including Westlaw and LexisNexis.
- Familiarity with PCLaw and iManage is highly desirable.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent writing skills for preparing clear summaries and detailed reports; adept at proofreading and transcription.
- Skilled in document review processes and legal drafting.
- Superior communication skills for interviewing clients or witnesses and professional phone etiquette.
- Knowledge of legal administrative processes including data entry, filing systems, document management systems, and clerical support.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaborate effectively within a team.
