Overview

A full-service litigation and business law firm with multiple locations across the United States is seeking a Paralegal Assistant. The firm serves clients with domestic and international operations, focusing on complex litigation and business law challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Assist attorneys and paralegals with fact investigation, legal research, and document preparation
  • Manage document databases, docketing, and case files
  • Assist with filing in cases involving large volumes of documents
  • Organize and assemble supporting documents for motions, depositions, and trials
  • Retrieve specific legal documents as requested
  • Support preparation of client presentations, proposals, briefs, and document productions
  • Participate in mediation, arbitration, and trial preparation
  • Utilize and learn legal AI tools and adopt new technologies
  • Meet annual targeted billable hours of 1000
  • Deliver superior service to internal and external clients
  • Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and effective communication
  • Manage time, prioritize workflow, and work collaboratively within a team

Requirements

  • Minimum two years litigation experience preferred
  • Proficiency with Excel required
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage workload effectively

Compensation

Salary ranges vary by state and location:

  • California: $57,000 - $90,000
  • Colorado: $49,000 - $68,000
  • Illinois: $54,000 - $75,000
  • Jersey City, NJ: $50,000 - $60,000
  • Maryland: $47,000 - $59,000
  • Massachusetts: $57,000 - $79,000
  • Minnesota: $48,000 - $60,000
  • New York: $55,000 - $66,000
  • Washington: $51,000 - $62,000
  • Washington, DC: $59,000 - $71,000

Compensation varies based on skill, experience, location, and other factors. Discretionary bonuses may be available based on individual and firm performance.
