Overview
This role supports attorneys and paralegals by managing data and assisting with case organization. Responsibilities include handling incoming data securely, maintaining related databases, and supporting document workflows.
The position may be filled remotely, via a virtual office, or in any of the organization’s office locations.
Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys and paralegals with managing data and case organization.
- Manage, organize, store, and analyze incoming data efficiently while upholding agreed-upon security standards.
- Review data for inconsistencies or anomalies that could skew analytical results.
- Maintain database(s).
- Communicate with team members about data changes and requirements.
- Download and save documents into NetDocs.
- Assist with other tasks as assigned.
- Familiarity and experience with adopting legal AI; ability to learn and implement new AI is preferred.
- Meet a billable requirement of 1000 hours.
Requirements
- Two years litigation experience (mandatory).
- Ability to provide superior service to internal and external customers and communicate effectively.
- Ability to interact professionally and courteously with clients and employees at all times; professional appearance required.
- Excellent organizational, time-management, and prioritization skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and adapt to changing business demands.
- Ability to produce acceptable volume of work efficiently and accurately; ability to produce quality final work product.
- Good judgment and ability to make sound, practical decisions; act decisively under deadlines.
- High level of professional integrity; maintain confidentiality and build trust.
- Ability to lead and motivate others; when applicable, ability to manage direct report(s), including performance evaluation, goal-setting, employee development, and problem-solving.
Preferred Qualifications
- Asbestos experience.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Experience with electronic court filings.
Compensation & Benefits
Compensation is commensurate with skill and experience. The exact compensation varies based on skills, experience, location, and other factors permitted by law. Expected compensation ranges by location are:
- State of California: $47,000 - $96,000
- State of Colorado: $43,000 - $77,000
- State of Connecticut: $37,000 - $94,000
- State of Illinois: $42,000 - $82,000
- Jersey City, NJ: $51,000 - $92,000
- State of Maine: $32,000 - $73,000
- State of Maryland: $45,000 - $69,000
- State of Massachusetts: $47,000 - $90,000
- State of Minnesota: $47,000 - $77,000
- State of New York: $44,000 - $94,000
- State of Virginia: $30,000 - $89,000
- State of Vermont: $46,000 - $89,000
- State of Washington: $45,000 - $86,000
- Washington, DC: $60,000 - $89,000
Salaries do not include a discretionary bonus. Bonus opportunities are non-guaranteed and depend on individual and firm performance.
