Overview

This role supports the General Counsel in managing legal matters for a technology organization. Responsibilities include contract drafting and review, intellectual property support, compliance, and corporate governance.

The position is remote-first, with periodic in-person meetings at varied locations.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing, reviewing, and revising contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
  • Maintain an organized, up-to-date document management system to support timely compliance and legal deadlines.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on regulatory compliance, intellectual property, and commercial law.
  • Monitor legislative changes that may affect the organization’s operations.
  • Support management of the intellectual property portfolio, including trademarks, copyrights, and patents.
  • Coordinate with external counsel and internal stakeholders on IP matters such as registrations, renewals, and enforcement actions.
  • Support corporate governance by preparing meeting documents, maintaining corporate records, and ensuring compliance with governance policies and procedures.
  • Assist with compliance efforts, including development, implementation, and maintenance of policies, procedures, and training programs.
  • Provide administrative and legal support to the General Counsel, including scheduling meetings, maintaining legal files, and handling correspondence.
  • Coordinate cross-functionally and with outside counsel as needed, including organizing documents.
  • Work from home and collaborate throughout the day via chat, voice, and video using company-provided equipment.

Requirements / Minimum Qualifications

  • 2–5 years of paralegal experience, preferably in a technology company or law firm, with exposure to intellectual property, contracts, and corporate law.
  • Strong legal research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in legal document drafting and review.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and legal research tools and project management tools.
  • Ability to travel internationally and domestically for quarterly business meetings.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Paralegal certification.
  • Familiarity with the technology industry and related legal issues.
  • Proficiency with Adobe, Pitch, Slack, Notion, Asana, and Docusign.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Pay range: $105,000–$110,000 USD per year, plus a performance-based bonus.
  • Vacation time: 144 hours of accrued vacation time to start.
  • Paid holidays: 12 per year.
  • Paid sick time: 80 hours annually.
  • Medical insurance: 100% covered for employees; coverage begins the first of the month after enrollment. Dependents (spouse/partner/children) are 50% covered.
  • Dental and vision: 100% covered for employees; 50% covered for dependents.
  • 401(K): Traditional 401(K) and Roth 401(K). Company match of 100% for employee contributions of 1–3% of annual salary.
  • Parental leave: Full 12 weeks for parents for birth, adoption, or foster placement of a child.
  • Home office reimbursement: one-time reimbursement up to $1,500 to purchase an ergonomic desk and chair.
  • Remote stipends: wifi & snacks.
