Overview
A leading insurance organization is seeking a Paralegal Claims Specialist to join their Law & Regulation team. This role provides comprehensive paralegal support to claims coverage counsel within a designated practice area, assisting with coverage analysis and claims-related legal work under the direction of Managing Counsel.
Responsibilities
- Conduct, summarize, and analyze legal and regulatory research related to claims and coverage matters, including state laws, regulations, and case law
- Assist counsel in identifying, tracking, and summarizing key legal and regulatory issues, monitoring developments and providing timely updates
- Review proposed and enacted legislation to assess applicability and potential impact on claims handling and coverage positions
- Gather, organize, review, and validate documents such as pleadings, correspondence, regulatory materials, and reference documents to support legal strategy
- Manage intake of new legal matters by entering and maintaining accurate data, uploading documents, and ensuring files are complete and properly categorized in the matter management system
- Review and explain forms, coverage-related documentation, and procedural requirements to internal business partners and in-house clients
- Support project management by coordinating with legal, business clients, and stakeholders to ensure collaboration and adherence to timelines
- Execute, file, track, and retain legal and regulatory documents in compliance with internal guidelines and record-retention policies
Requirements
- Paralegal certification (e.g., two-year certificate from an ABA-approved program) or equivalent education plus five years of relevant paralegal experience
- Experience supporting attorneys in insurance claims, coverage analysis, litigation, or regulatory matters
- Strong ability to research, analyze, and summarize state insurance regulations, statutes, and case law with high accuracy
- Proven ability to manage multiple matters in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Experience using legal or claims matter management systems to ensure data integrity and document accuracy
- Strong collaboration skills working with cross-functional teams including legal, claims, compliance, and business units

Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly pay range: $28.03 - $42.99, based on experience and qualifications
- Background investigation required for candidates offered the position
