Overview

A full-service litigation and business law firm with multiple U.S. locations is seeking a Commercial Litigation Paralegal. This role supports attorneys in commercial litigation matters through fact investigation, legal research, document preparation, trial support, and client service. The position may be remote or based at any firm location.

Responsibilities

  • Assist attorneys with fact investigation, witness interviews, drafting pleadings and correspondence, legal research, and document preparation and production.
  • Prepare fact development materials such as medical records and historical chronologies.
  • Manage databases and conduct document analysis using document review software.
  • Handle docketing and case management tasks.
  • Prepare for and assist in depositions, hearings, trials, and related proceedings; attend as needed.
  • Draft pleadings and discovery documents.
  • Coordinate filing and service of pleadings and documents.
  • Collect and summarize medical, corporate, and other records.
  • Work collaboratively with attorneys across multiple offices.
  • Serve as liaison between clients, colleagues, and experts to ensure timely communication and material production.
  • Stay informed on developments in commercial litigation and paralegal industry trends.
  • Participate in internal continuing legal education (CLE) sessions.
  • Anticipate attorney needs and provide proactive support.
  • Mentor junior paralegals or paralegal assistants as needed.
  • Utilize and learn legal AI and e-discovery tools.
  • Meet an annual billable hour target of 1500.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant commercial litigation paralegal experience.
  • Experience with Relativity or similar document review software.
  • Trial preparation and attendance experience.
  • California litigation experience required.
  • Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree or paralegal certificate preferred.
  • Significant substantive legal experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.

Compensation and Benefits

Compensation is commensurate with skills, experience, location, and other legal factors. Expected salary ranges by location are:

  • California: $86,000 - $139,000
  • Colorado: $75,000 - $119,000
  • Illinois: $64,000 - $125,000
  • Maryland: $73,000 - $107,000
  • Massachusetts: $85,000 - $130,000
  • Minnesota: $75,000 - $111,000
  • Jersey City, NJ: $78,000 - $114,000
  • New York: $66,000 - $125,000
  • Washington State: $88,000 - $134,000
  • Washington, DC: $94,000 - $138,000

Bonus opportunities are discretionary and based on individual and firm performance.
