Overview
A full-service litigation and business law firm with multiple U.S. locations is seeking a Commercial Litigation Paralegal. This role supports attorneys by assisting with fact investigation, witness interviews, drafting pleadings and correspondence, legal research, document preparation and production, case management, trial preparation, and client service. The position may be remote or based at any of the firm's locations.
Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys with fact investigation, witness interviews, drafting pleadings and correspondence, legal research, and document preparation and production.
- Prepare fact development materials such as medical records and historical chronologies.
- Manage databases and conduct document analysis using document review software.
- Perform docketing and case management tasks.
- Prepare materials for depositions, hearings, trials, and related proceedings; attend these as needed.
- Draft pleadings and discovery documents.
- Coordinate filing and service of pleadings and documents.
- Collect and summarize medical, corporate, and other records.
- Manage calendaring and docketing.
- Collaborate with attorneys across multiple offices.
- Serve as liaison between clients, colleagues, and experts to ensure timely communication and production of materials.
- Stay informed on developments in commercial litigation and paralegal industry.
- Participate in internal continuing legal education (CLE) sessions.
- Anticipate attorney needs and provide proactive support.
- Mentor junior paralegals or paralegal assistants as needed.
- Develop proficiency with e-discovery databases, AI software tools, internet/electronic research, and electronic file maintenance.
- Meet an annual billable hour target of 1500.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant commercial litigation paralegal experience.
- Experience with Relativity or similar document review software.
- Trial preparation and attendance experience.
- California litigation experience is required.
- Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree or paralegal certificate preferred.
- Significant substantive legal-related experience may be considered in lieu of formal education at the discretion of management.

Compensation and Benefits
Compensation is commensurate with skills, experience, location, and other factors permitted by law. Expected salary ranges by location are:
- California: $86,000 - $139,000
- Colorado: $75,000 - $119,000
- Illinois: $64,000 - $125,000
- Maryland: $73,000 - $107,000
- Massachusetts: $85,000 - $130,000
- Minnesota: $75,000 - $111,000
- Jersey City, NJ: $78,000 - $114,000
- New York: $66,000 - $125,000
- Washington State: $88,000 - $134,000
- Washington, DC: $94,000 - $138,000
Bonus opportunities are discretionary and based on individual and firm performance.
