Overview

This entry-level Paralegal position supports attorneys by assisting with complex civil litigation documents and managing workflow procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Review documents in a custom database to extract and input information
  • Maintain workflow expectations
  • Prepare travel and check request documents as needed
  • Update office lists and logs
  • Keep vendor information current
  • Code and send accounts payable invoices to the designated office for payment
  • Assist with inventory and ordering of office forms (e.g., taxi vouchers, messenger services, overnight delivery)
  • Support administrative attorneys with file maintenance
  • Learn and assist with MMSEA filing requirements, executive quarterly filings, and update Medicare database fields as necessary
  • Research and resolve invoicing issues
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Four-year degree
  • Proficiency with computer applications
  • Strong customer service and communication skills

  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel)

  • Interpersonal skills to communicate courteously and tactfully with diverse clients, attorneys, staff, and vendors while maintaining confidentiality

Work Environment

  • Non-smoking environment
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and stressful situations
  • Work hours: 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday
  • Primarily remote work after initial training in Washington, D.C. office

Compensation & Benefits

  • Anticipated base salary range: $40,000 (actual salary dependent on experience, qualifications, skills, education, certifications, and geographic location)

Location

  • Initial training in Washington, D.C. office; primarily remote thereafter
