Overview
A remote contractor position is available for a Paralegal to support the training of next-generation AI systems by providing expert legal domain knowledge. This role focuses on reviewing and evaluating land control instruments and related legal documents to ensure high-quality input for AI model development. No prior AI experience is required.
Responsibilities
- Review and evaluate land control instruments such as deeds, ground leases, rights of way, and easement agreements, focusing on term, exclusivity, and conveyance terms.
- Identify deficiencies, gaps, and execution issues within site control documentation packages.
- Organize and present findings in clear, standardized formats for senior legal review.
- Support due diligence workflows by processing and annotating land and real estate documents.
- Flag non-compliant or incomplete filings according to project and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with senior reviewers to escalate and resolve complex document issues.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years experience as a paralegal or legal document reviewer, preferably within energy, real estate, or infrastructure sectors.
- Practical experience reviewing land control instruments including deeds, ground leases, easements, and rights of way.
- Strong ability to assess legal language related to term, exclusivity, and conveyance.
- High attention to detail and ability to organize findings into structured, standardized formats.
- Comfortable working independently in a remote, document-intensive environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting utility-scale energy or transmission projects.
- Familiarity with PJM site control requirements or interconnection documentation.
- Based on the East Coast or with experience in East Coast projects or legal practice.
