A premier international labor and employment law firm is seeking a skilled and experienced Paralegal to support the Office of the General Counsel. This role is essential to the smooth operation of legal services, providing critical support to the department in managing legal, ethical, and risk-management obligations.
Responsibilities
- Obtain, organize, and manage legal documents and electronic data related to firm matters, including identifying and preserving documents relevant to litigation or compliance.
- Draft legal correspondence, communications, and discovery responses for attorney review in support of litigation and compliance matters.
- Conduct online research and utilize electronic resources efficiently.
- Assist in monitoring and supporting collections efforts, coordinating with billing, finance teams, and collection counsel.
- Identify, review, and prepare documents for internal and external production, applying privilege designations, redactions, and confidentiality markings according to policy and professional responsibility rules.
- Support preparation and coordination of compliance audits, surveys, due diligence requests, and certification requirements, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
- Manage multiple concurrent assignments and deadlines, communicating proactively regarding priorities and capacity.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues across practice groups and administrative functions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and ABA-approved paralegal certificate, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of drafting clear and accurate correspondence and memoranda.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), document management systems (e.g., iManage), conflicts-checking systems, and electronic discovery platforms.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management skills.
- Ability to prioritize effectively and perform under pressure.
- Experience working across various state and federal jurisdictions.
- High motivation, reliability, eagerness to learn, and strong teamwork abilities.
- Ability to work proactively, both autonomously and collaboratively.
- Adaptability to fast-paced and changing environments.
Experience
- Minimum of five (5) years of paralegal experience in a law firm, in-house legal department, or supporting a law firm Office of General Counsel or risk-management/compliance functions is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience handling confidential and privileged matters with discretion.
- Working knowledge of e-discovery practices.
Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly rate range: $40.87 - $49.17 per hour. Actual pay will be determined based on location, experience, internal equity, skills, qualifications, and other job-related factors.
