Overview
A well-established law firm with a 125-year history is seeking a full-time Worker's Compensation Paralegal to support its growing legal practice. Responsibilities
- Perform all billable tasks such as managing medical records and discovery
- Draft various legal documents for attorney review
- Request, follow up on, and organize medical record files
- E-file documents within the appropriate court filing systems (Kansas City)
- Manage and organize case files
- Research and analyze case data
- Draft discovery documents
- Communicate with outside counsel, physicians, court personnel, and other experts
- Bill time contemporaneously
- Assist attorneys with case-related requests
- Respond to record and legal documentation requests
- Answer phone calls, take messages, or transfer calls to appropriate parties
- Handle highly confidential information with utmost discretion
- Act as a responsible and collaborative team member aligned with the firm's core values
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Experience in worker's compensation law or related legal field preferred
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to manage confidential information responsibly
- Proficiency with court e-filing systems (Kansas City jurisdiction preferred)
