Overview
A mission-driven law firm dedicated to serving nonprofit organizations, social enterprises, and other purpose-driven entities is seeking a Paralegal to support attorneys across transactional, advisory, and compliance matters within their nonprofit and transactional practice. This full-time role involves preparing legal documents, maintaining client records, and coordinating with attorneys and team members to ensure smooth progress of client matters.
Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys in preparing legal documents, contracts, agreements, filings, and correspondence
- Support entity formation, governance documentation, and compliance-related work
- Conduct legal research and compile information for attorney review
- Prepare drafts of routine legal documents and supporting materials
- Organize and maintain client documents within firm systems
- Ensure filings and documentation are completed accurately and on time
- Maintain orderly, complete, and secure digital client files
- Process outgoing and incoming mail as requested by the legal team
- Track tasks, deadlines, and filing requirements across assigned matters
- Follow up with team members to keep work progressing without delays
- Support attorney-client communications by preparing materials and tracking information
- Coordinate with attorneys, legal services managers, and team members to support matter progression
- Prepare and support submission of federal and state filings, including tax-exempt and corporate compliance filings
- Track filing deadlines and requirements to support timely compliance
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and/or paralegal certification preferred
- Relevant legal or administrative experience required
- Experience with corporate, transactional, or nonprofit work preferred
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with ability to manage multiple priorities
- High attention to detail and accuracy in documents and filings
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with legal and firm technology (e.g., Clio, Asana, Box) or ability to learn quickly
- Demonstrated reliability and follow-through without step-by-step direction
- Comfortable working within a structured, team-based, supervised environment
