Overview
This role involves providing essential paralegal support to the General Counsel and legal team of an education-focused nonprofit organization. The paralegal will conduct legal research, draft documents, organize case files, and assist in trial preparation to ensure efficient legal operations and compliance with applicable laws.

Responsibilities
- Conduct legal research and gather relevant case information.
- Draft legal documents including contracts, pleadings, briefs, and other responses.
- Organize, maintain, and track legal matters, files, and documentation.
- Assist attorneys in preparing for hearings, trials, and meetings.
- File documents with courts and government agencies.
- Communicate with witnesses and experts as needed.
- Review and summarize depositions, interrogatories, and testimony.
Requirements
- 2 to 4 years of legal experience; prior in-house experience is desirable.
- Strong legal research and analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
- Proficiency with legal software and document management systems.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Discretion and ability to handle confidential information.
- Teamwork and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated success and proven track record in relevant job functions or industries. Military service may substitute for professional experience or formal education requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in nonprofit governance, privacy, litigation, or public records.
- Florida Registered Paralegal (FRP) certification or similar certification from an accredited program.
