Overview
This role offers the opportunity to contribute significantly to a lean legal affairs team by preparing legal documentation and managing internal legal processes in a highly cross-functional environment. The position is remote within the United States, with eligibility and location confirmation required prior to advancing in the hiring process.
Responsibilities
Contract Lifecycle Management
- Manage all contract requests using Ramp and IronClad platforms, including intake facilitation, maintaining the contract repository, and training stakeholders.
- Communicate with stakeholders throughout the contract process; track key dates, expirations, and renewals.
- Ensure data quality, responsiveness, and generate reports as needed.
Legal Research & Document Support
- Conduct legal research on issues such as data privacy and marketplace facilitator regulations; summarize findings for attorney review.
- Manage and update contract templates; perform first-level review of modification requests.
- Review and process all NDAs (internal and external) for attorney sign-off.
Compliance & Risk
- Track standard operating procedures (SOPs), licenses, and permits; ensure timely company responses and renewals.
- Escalate any non-compliant practices to appropriate stakeholders.
Administration & Cross-Functional Support
- Serve as the first point of contact for employee legal inquiries via Slack/email; escalate to attorneys as needed.
- Assist with policy research and creation.
- Draft weekly one-on-one meeting agendas and provide timely status updates.
- Coordinate meetings, assist with departmental agendas, and fulfill monthly privacy requests.
Onboarding Milestones
Within 30 Days
- Complete Ramp Camp onboarding program.
- Meet with cross-functional leaders and team members to establish relationships and understand organizational needs.
- Begin reviewing and assessing existing legal documentation, tools, and processes.
- Attend and participate in relevant meetings to help filter legal requests.
Within 60 Days
- Take ownership of legal documentation, applicable tools, and processes.
- Review and monitor all relevant compliance documentation.
Within 90 Days
- Make substantial contributions to legal documentation and compliance monitoring.
- Provide suggestions and guidance on legal process improvements based on business insights.
- Drive compliance program improvements as needed.
Requirements
- 2-3 years of experience as a paralegal or equivalent role in a private practice law firm or in-house legal department.
- Experience with legal technology and contract lifecycle management (CLM) tools such as IronClad, LinkSquares, Conga, ContractSafe, Agiloft, DocuSign; experience with procurement tools like Ramp is a plus.
- Knowledge of legal principles and processes.
- Experience with legal and compliance monitoring.
- Strong drafting and reviewing skills for documents such as licenses and NDAs.
- Collaborative team player with excellent communication skills and an empathetic approach.

- Ability to work independently and consistently deliver high-quality work on time.

Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly rate: $34.00 to $49.00, depending on location and experience.
