Overview

This is a full-time Paralegal position reporting to the Chief Legal Officer. The role is currently remote based in Anchorage, Alaska, with potential travel within Anchorage and to the Kenai Peninsula.

Responsibilities

  • Research, monitor, and track regulatory requirements, commission rules, orders, proceedings, and deadlines affecting the organization.
  • Assist with preparation and submission of filings, applications, responses, and supporting documentation.
  • Support development, implementation, and maintenance of corporate governance policies, procedures, compliance programs, and internal controls.
  • Maintain compliance calendars, filing schedules, and corporate records.
  • Draft, proofread, format, and prepare correspondence, memoranda, notices, board resolutions, meeting minutes, contract summaries, compliance reviews, and other legal and governance documents.
  • Maintain department records and filing systems for legal, regulatory, governance, and compliance documents in both physical and electronic formats.
  • Perform administrative duties including preparing correspondence and reports, coordinating special projects, maintaining confidential information, processing departmental records, and providing support to the Chief Legal Officer and Legal Department.

Requirements

  • Paralegal certificate or related associate's degree.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of paralegal experience, preferably in regulatory or corporate law.
  • Experience with regulatory agencies or compliance work is strongly preferred.
  • In lieu of certification/degree, an additional three years of applicable experience may substitute.
  • Must obtain and maintain a valid Alaska Driver's license within 90 days of hire and maintain a good driving record.
