Overview
A fast-growing global real estate brokerage powered by technology is seeking a Product, Privacy and Data Protection Counsel to join their Legal team. This fully remote role involves providing legal guidance on privacy, data security, and regulatory compliance throughout the product development lifecycle. The organization operates across the U.S., Canada, India, and the District of Columbia.
Responsibilities
- Provide legal counsel to Product, Marketing, and business teams on applicable legal and regulatory requirements and risks throughout the product lifecycle.
- Identify and anticipate legal and regulatory risks, proposing creative and effective business-focused solutions.
- Draft and negotiate commercial agreements supporting business initiatives.
- Stay current on relevant industry and consumer protection laws and regulations.
- Collaborate with Marketing and go-to-market teams to ensure compliance of all consumer-facing materials.
- Partner with the broader Legal & Compliance team on various corporate and enterprise initiatives as needed.
Requirements
- Minimum 7 years of experience in a product counsel role at a law firm or in-house legal department.
- Experience working specifically on regulatory compliance in a law firm or corporate environment.
- Knowledge and application of consumer protection laws and regulations such as RESPA, UDAAP, and GLBA.
- Digital fluency or a strong willingness to learn new technology.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel).
- Ability to sit for long periods.
- Candidates must be based in the U.S.
