Overview
This role is responsible for unifying and elevating US immigration operations by leading the paralegal team and coordinating independent contract case attorneys under a single quality and risk-acceptance standard. The position focuses on driving team capability, process standardization, and end-to-end workflow optimization across the entire US immigration case process. It requires a strategic mindset, strong managerial and organizational skills, and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues. This is an operations and process leadership role without client legal advice or billable case work.
Responsibilities
- Manage the US paralegal team, providing feedback, coaching, professional development, and performance management.
- Address personnel issues, retention risks, and capability gaps to build a cohesive, high-performing team.
- Coordinate and lead independent contract case attorneys as a unified team under one leadership point.
- Set strategic direction, align on case selection criteria, and maintain process and quality standards.
- Own the end-to-end US immigration case workflow from intake through filing and delivery.
- Identify issues and bottlenecks proactively, diagnose root causes, and design process improvements.
- Collaborate closely with Legal and Legal Operations to eliminate information loss across Sales, Operations, and Legal.
- Establish and enforce a consistent internal risk-acceptance and quality bar for case intake.
- Make adjudication decisions on edge cases and resolve attorney-paralegal conflicts regarding case selection and strategy.
- Develop, document, and maintain standardized Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all operational phases.
- Lead continuous training on SOPs and ensure consistent execution.
- Monitor team and case performance against KPIs such as quality, SLA adherence, refund rates, and attorney responsiveness.
- Flag trends early, develop remediation projects, and drive corrective actions.
- Lead hiring for US positions including job design, interview panels, offer negotiation, and onboarding.
- Serve as the escalation point for client complaints and team conflicts, managing de-escalation, resolution, and root cause analysis.
- Collaborate with Product and Operations leadership on US-specific AI and automation workflow needs.
- Support testing, SOP development, and team enablement for new product launches.
Requirements
- Licensed US immigration attorney with 6+ years of immigration law experience.
- At least 3 years in a people-management, leadership, or supervisory role managing paralegals, teams, or case operations.
- Deep expertise in US immigration case workflows and visa categories including O-1A, EB-1A, L-1, H-1B, TN, and NIW.
- Intimate understanding of petition building, evidence strategy, RFE response, and filing timelines.
- Demonstrated ability to set and enforce operational standards, develop SOPs, and train teams on complex processes.
- Comfortable working in ambiguous environments and designing systems in a growing organization.
- Excellent communication skills across internal and external stakeholders including attorneys, paralegals, clients, Sales, Operations, and Legal leadership.
- Ability to explain nuanced legal risk in operational terms.
- Proven track record of stabilizing fast-developing processes through leadership, coaching, and structural change.
- Strong managerial and organizational skills with a strategic mindset.
- Proactive approach to identifying issues, diagnosing root causes, and delivering effective solutions.
- Capacity to lead, organize, and grow a high-performing team.

- Salary range reflects gross base salary or On-Target Earnings (OTE) for commercial roles with commission eligibility.
