Overview

This role involves associate-level litigation work representing clients in New Jersey. The organization is seeking associates to fill multiple positions for experienced litigators supporting New Jersey clients.

Responsibilities

  • Represent clients in all phases of litigation from initiation to expert discovery in matters involving professional liability or labor and employment.
  • Attend court appearances, hearings, depositions, and case management conferences.
  • Conduct complex legal research and discovery investigations.
  • Draft discovery requests and responses; motions; case evaluation summaries; court orders; settlement agreements; affidavits; pleadings; motions; and legal memoranda.
  • Review discovery responses and depositions, and prepare summaries and litigation update reports.
  • Negotiate with opposing counsel to settle claims.
  • Communicate closely with clients during the course of litigation to provide legal analysis, status reports, and advice.

Requirements

  • Must be barred in NJ.
  • Familiarity with NJ law and procedure required.
  • Previous experience required, preferably in civil litigation.
  • Excellent writing and organizational skills; ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Proficient in Lexis software.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience drafting discovery.
  • Experience taking the lead on depositions.
  • Experience arguing motions.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Yearly salary range: $85,000 to $130,000.
  • Full-time position with a competitive salary, benefit package, and flexible work environment (remote or hybrid allowed, except for court-mandated appearances).
  • The actual salary offered may be above the identified range based on relevant skills, training, experience, and the location where the position is filled.
