Overview
This role involves preparing and filing employment-based immigration cases, with a focus on EB1, EB2-NIW, O-1 visas, and Requests for Evidence (RFEs). The position requires working remotely but candidates must reside in the state of Florida.
Responsibilities
- Prepare cases, legal strategies, and cover letters diligently.
- Develop expert-level understanding of client cases, including immigrant and non-immigrant petitions.
- Manage multiple projects and deadlines; prepare and revise legal documents.
- Explain legal terminology clearly and promptly to clients.
- Research unique legal issues by identifying relevant statutes and judicial decisions.
- Stay current on legislative changes affecting immigration law.
- Develop solutions to complex legal questions.
- Provide training to client companies and individuals on substantive legal topics and updates on immigration laws and regulations.
- Collaborate with colleagues to share information, resolve client issues, and support client projects.
- Communicate regularly and effectively with clients and foreign nationals regarding procedural and case processing matters.
- Assess eligibility of corporate foreign national employees for non-immigrant and immigrant visa status in the U.S.
- Work with global mobility personnel and general counsel offices to prepare petitions and applications for submission to the Department of Labor (DOL) and United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).
- Supervise paralegal staff in record keeping and document preparation to ensure accuracy.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) or Master of Laws (LLM) degree from an accredited U.S. law school.
- Bilingual in Portuguese.
- 1-2 years of experience with EB1, EB2-NIW, O-1 visas, and RFEs preferred.
- High-level organizational skills.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong time management and attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume law firm environment.
- Adaptability and willingness to learn across various practice areas.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
