Overview
An established litigation law firm is seeking experienced Litigation Paralegals to join their Toxic Tort practice group supporting legal teams based in California. This role requires working Pacific Time Zone business hours (9:00 am to 5:00 pm) to support California offices. Experience handling California cases is advantageous but not mandatory.
The firm specializes in complex civil litigation, focusing on toxic tort, complex product liability, local government, general liability, and commercial litigation.
Responsibilities
- Manage multiple complex litigation matters simultaneously.
- Monitor case filings and provide detailed assessments to attorneys.
- Draft and prepare initial versions of pre-trial motions, dispositive motions, and other pleadings.
- Review and evaluate discovery documents such as medical records, sales documents, employment records, and other case materials.
- Compose case assessments and evaluations for review by associates and partners.
- Maintain contemporaneous accounting and submission of personal billable time.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Toxic Tort Defense litigation.
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Experience with California cases is a plus but not required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel), Westlaw, PACER, and/or File & Serve Xpress.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Dependable with the ability to follow instructions, work independently, and commit to necessary hours to meet deadlines.
- Ability to respond promptly to attorney and client requests.
