Overview

A remote Legal Counsel position is available to provide essential legal advice and support to various internal teams. This role focuses on ensuring compliance and supporting strategic initiatives, impacting the efficiency and legal integrity of operations. The position requires legal expertise combined with strong communication skills to work effectively across organizational levels and ensure adherence to regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

  • Provide tactical legal advice and support to internal clients including pharmacy benefit management (PBM), pharmacy, specialty pharmacy, and government programs.
  • Conduct legal research, draft documents, and handle transactional work related to legal matters.
  • Manage litigation efforts for assigned business areas as needed.
  • Advise internal clients on compliance with regulatory requirements and corporate policies.
  • Develop and deliver legal training and investigate legal issues as necessary.
  • Provide client training on legal principles.
  • Coordinate with in-house and external legal resources when appropriate.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.
  • Current license to practice law in the state of residence.
  • Minimum of 5 years practicing as an attorney or in a related legal role focused on regulatory or compliance matters.
  • At least 3 years of experience working with managed care companies or other healthcare clients.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with competing priorities effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships across all organizational levels.
  • Proven ability to simplify complex legal concepts into clear and compelling communications.
  • Expert communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.
