Overview
A partner organization is seeking a Senior Director, Legal Counsel to join their team in a fully remote capacity. This role involves providing legal counsel to various business teams, ensuring compliance with data privacy laws, managing contract negotiations, and supporting special legal projects. The position plays a key role in driving successful legal outcomes while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Draft and negotiate a high volume of contracts, including vendor and partnership agreements
- Provide legal counsel on new projects in collaboration with legal and internal teams
- Assist with special projects to support the legal department
- Coordinate with external legal advisors as necessary
Requirements
- Minimum of 6 years of legal experience
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree required
- Experience in the fintech payments industry
- Strong skills in drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements
- Admission to practice law in at least one US state
- Basic understanding of privacy laws and regulations
