Overview
A partner organization is seeking a Remote In-House Counsel to ensure that all contracts and legal operations comply with company policies and legal standards. This role involves contract drafting, legal research, and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to provide legal guidance and improve legal process efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate various contracts ensuring compliance with company policies
- Conduct legal research and analysis to support contract negotiations and resolve legal issues
- Collaborate with internal teams such as procurement and finance to provide legal advice
- Assist in developing and implementing compliance programs and policies
- Manage and execute processes for resolving contract disputes and unpaid fees
- Provide legal support in areas including litigation and employment law
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
- 5-7 years of experience in contract drafting and negotiation, preferably in an in-house role
- Strong understanding of contract law and legal principles
- Proven ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders
- Experience managing litigation and negotiating disputes
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience in risk management and compliance
