Overview
A mission-driven law firm focused on accelerating the transition away from fossil fuels is seeking a highly qualified junior to mid-level Real Estate attorney. This fully remote position involves supporting senior attorneys with real estate transactions related to renewable energy projects.
Responsibilities
- Assist with all aspects of real estate transactions, including due diligence, drafting ancillary legal documents, reviewing title and survey
- Research relevant legal issues related to real estate and renewable energy
- Coordinate and lead the closing process for real estate deals
- Draft and review leases, easements, purchase agreements, and other ancillary agreements
- Collaborate with clients, colleagues, and other professionals on real estate matters
- Adhere to firm policies and priorities
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
Requirements
- 2-5 years of experience in real estate practice at a recognized national or regional law firm
- Demonstrated interest in and desire to serve the clean energy industry
- Hands-on experience leading due diligence, reviewing title and survey, drafting ancillary agreements, and supporting transactional work
- Strong deal management, organization, drafting, communication, negotiation, and analytical skills
- Proficiency in legal research and drafting
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment
- Admission to and good standing with the Bar in the applicant’s state of residence
- Commitment to the mission of advancing clean energy
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with real estate and related transactions in the clean energy sector
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and regulations applicable to the clean energy transition
Compensation and Benefits
- Base salary starting at $175,000, determined during the interview process based on experience and market factors
- 1,200 annual billable hour requirement with hourly bonuses for exceeding this target
