Overview
A mission-driven law firm dedicated to accelerating the transition away from fossil fuels is seeking a highly qualified mid-level project development associate with law firm experience and strong academic credentials. The ideal candidate will have expertise in drafting and negotiating a variety of renewable energy contracts such as EPCs, O&Ms, and PPAs.
This is a fully remote position, allowing the attorney to work from any location where they are licensed to practice law.
Responsibilities
- Support the team with project development in the renewable energy sector.
- Collaborate with clients, colleagues, and other professionals on project development matters.
- Adhere to firm policies, practices, and priorities.
- Perform other duties as requested by firm management.
Requirements
- 6-8 years of experience at a law firm, preferably serving clients in renewable energy and related industries.
- Experience negotiating a variety of traditional renewable energy contracts (EPCs, O&Ms, PPAs, etc.).
- Strong deal management, organization, drafting, communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
- Team-oriented with a focus on mentoring junior attorneys.
- Proficiency in legal research and drafting.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote work environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong organizational and planning abilities to manage multiple complex matters under strict deadlines.
- Admission to and in good standing with the Bar of the applicant’s state of residence.

- Experience working in a remote, distributed law firm environment.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary starting at $235,000, determined during the interview process based on experience, expertise, business needs, and market factors.
- 1,200 annual billable hour requirement with hourly bonuses for exceeding this target.
