Overview
A healthcare technology company focused on transforming the healthcare economy is seeking a Senior Commercial Counsel to join their Legal team. This role reports to the General Counsel and involves managing commercial transactions, advising internal stakeholders, and improving contract management processes. The company partners with employers to redesign healthcare benefits, aiming to guide employees to higher-quality, lower-cost care.
Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements including master service agreements, business associate agreements, vendor agreements, data use and data protection agreements, partnership agreements, non-disclosure agreements, and employment-related agreements
- Maintain and improve contract templates, approval matrices, and internal guidance related to transactional issues
- Manage and develop transactional processes such as contract lifecycle management to increase efficiency and scalability
- Provide legal advice to internal stakeholders primarily on commercial transactions and other day-to-day legal matters as needed
Requirements
- 4-6+ years of experience reviewing, drafting, and negotiating commercial agreements
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from a U.S. law school and admission to a state bar
- Comfort with technical, financial, and data science concepts
- Willingness to take initiative and contribute broadly to ensure company success
- Experience working in a rapidly evolving startup environment is preferred
- Ability to work with urgency, accountability, and openness to feedback

Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary range: $205,000 to $230,000, depending on qualifications and applicable laws
- Eligibility to participate in equity incentive plans
