Senior Commercial Counsel

Overview

A leading organization in the Consumer Technology sector is seeking a Senior Commercial Counsel to join their team. This role involves driving significant impact across key initiatives by partnering cross-functionally to deliver measurable outcomes. The position offers the opportunity to influence both strategy and execution within a high-growth environment.

Location: Remote (U.S. based candidates only; no visa sponsorship available)

Compensation: $179,000 – $238,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Build trusted relationships across various business teams
• Draft, negotiate, and provide legal advice on a range of commercial transactions
• Manage multiple projects effectively with a focus on timely completion
• Adapt to evolving business needs by taking on diverse responsibilities
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support client goals and mitigate risks

Requirements

• J.D. degree and active membership in a state bar
• 5 to 8 years of experience as in-house counsel
• Strong experience negotiating commercial technology and vendor agreements
• Proven commitment to client service and relationship building
• Ability to provide proactive, solution-oriented legal guidance
• Demonstrated ownership of projects with minimal supervision

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience negotiating and drafting commercial technology agreements, including SaaS and Data Processing Agreements (DPAs)
• Familiarity with B2B enterprise sales contracts and vendor agreements
• Knowledge of contract management software such as DocuSign or Coupa
• Understanding of compliance technology related to data processing laws (e.g., GDPR, CCPA)
• Insight into SaaS business models and sales processes relevant to technology products
