Overview
A leading purchase intelligence and incentives platform is seeking a Senior Counsel to join a small, fast-paced Legal and Compliance department. This role reports to the Assistant General Counsel and requires a detail-oriented, intelligent attorney who balances practical thinking with a big-picture perspective. The ideal candidate will help protect the organization, support business growth, and facilitate deal-making with a proactive and adaptable approach.
Responsibilities
- Provide legal support to various business units across the organization, addressing a wide range of legal needs
- Develop and improve processes and procedures to enhance the efficiency and organization of the Legal and Compliance department
- Promote the department’s vision throughout the company, ensuring legal obligations are met and the organization is protected
- Identify and propose solutions to complex legal problems
- Navigate evolving data privacy legislation to keep company policies and procedures current and compliant
Requirements
- 3-5 years of legal experience handling complex legal issues
- Experience at a top law firm is preferred, especially with expertise in privacy and cybersecurity
- Ability to review and analyze legal documents ranging from simple sales contracts to multi-million-dollar agreements
- Proven ability to influence decisions and align stakeholders across all levels
- Strong understanding of complex business and technical concepts with sound judgment in difficult trade-offs
- Skilled at managing competing business needs and finding creative, balanced solutions
- Experience or knowledge in privacy or advertising law is preferred
- Comfortable working in a technical environment primarily using macOS and Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides); familiarity with or willingness to work in this environment is required
