Overview
A company specializing in fuel-flexible, low-emissions local power solutions is seeking a versatile, business-minded attorney to join their Legal team. This role involves supporting a wide range of contracts, negotiations, and advisory work, serving as a strategic partner to internal stakeholders as well as vendors, customers, and strategic partners. The attorney will help create and shape the legal infrastructure for this area of the business.
Responsibilities
- Provide thoughtful, risk-balanced, and business-minded advice on complex contracts including equipment and project sale agreements, operation and maintenance contracts, development services agreements, EPC agreements, financed offerings, and related agreements.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and refine contract forms, templates, playbooks, and scalable processes.
- Partner with Sales, Finance, Project Delivery, Operations, and other teams to execute high-stakes commercial agreements.
- Lead end-to-end contract negotiations with customers in commercial and industrial, data center, governmental, and utility sectors, balancing legal protection with business velocity.
- Develop and deliver training and materials to improve the legal knowledge of the organization regarding contract terms and other legal issues.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree and admission to practice law in the U.S.
- Minimum of 8 years of transactional legal experience, ideally combining global law firm and/or in-house legal department work.
- Mastery of contract drafting and negotiation.
- Experience with contract management systems and a desire to optimize legal technology and workflows.
- Proven ability to serve as a trusted business partner to senior leaders.
- Comprehensive understanding of complex capital purchase and financed commercial transactions, operation and maintenance agreements, and the interrelatedness of deal contracts.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in dynamic environments requiring strategic legal problem-solving and relationship building.
Compensation & Benefits
