Overview
A Senior Counsel specializing in Labor Law is sought to provide strategic legal counsel on collective bargaining, labor relations, evolving labor law, and employee engagement matters. This role reports to the Senior Vice President, Legal and partners closely with an external legal team. The position can be based in Irvine, CA or be remote.
Responsibilities
- Support negotiation of collective bargaining agreements, including developing negotiation strategies and preparing proposals.
- Assist with litigation, arbitration, and legal proceedings related to grievances, unfair labor practice charges, or issues under the National Labor Relations Act (NLRA) and organized activity.
- Collaborate with labor lawyers and advise internal business partners on labor strategy, evolving labor law, and collective bargaining agreements.
- Provide legal advice on labor relations training, education, and communication.
- Advocate for strategies that foster an inclusive, collaborative, and supportive work environment.
- Partner with Human Resources, Labor Relations, Employee Relations, Communications, and other internal teams to develop long-term strategies for improving labor and employee relations and increasing employee engagement.
- Work closely with an external labor legal team, including attending team meetings and dotted line reporting.
- Respond promptly to a wide range of requests from business and legal teams, ensuring clarity and inclusivity in communications.
- Travel as needed for labor negotiations, team events, and other occasions.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor degree or international equivalent.
- Minimum of 6 years’ experience as a practicing attorney specializing in labor law, including collective bargaining, organizing activity, agency hearings, and labor arbitration, or equivalent experience.
- Active license to practice law in a jurisdiction and ability to meet admission requirements in relevant jurisdictions.
- Ability and willingness to travel frequently to the Irvine campus and other locations as needed.

- Extensive experience drafting, negotiating, and interpreting collective bargaining agreements.
- Experience in the software technology or entertainment industry preferred.
- Sound judgment incorporating legal analysis, pragmatic approach, and consideration of business goals and risk tolerance.

- Effective written and verbal communication skills, fostering inclusive dialogue and aligning diverse stakeholders.

Compensation & Benefits
- Base pay range in the U.S.: $137,170.00 - $253,806.00 annually, depending on experience, performance, and location.
- Eligibility for incentive compensation, which is not guaranteed.
