Overview
A global leader in workflow and automation solutions for anatomic pathology laboratories is seeking a Senior Counsel to support its global business strategy. This role serves as the lead legal advisor for multiple business units and related support functions, providing legal guidance on complex issues in a dynamic multinational environment. The position focuses on enabling business transformation and innovation.
Responsibilities
- Provide practical, solution-oriented legal advice on a broad range of complex issues and risks.
- Draft and negotiate agreements addressing identified legal risks.
- Serve as a primary legal and compliance contact globally, advising leaders of assigned business units on strategic and operational challenges.
- Act as a legal subject matter expert and strategic advisor on cross-functional projects, often leading teams to solve complex business problems and support strategic transactions.
- Collaborate with specialist attorneys and external counsel on intellectual property, employment, regulatory, compliance, M&A, joint ventures, and other matters.
- Manage commercial disputes and litigation.
- Utilize continuous process improvement tools to enhance legal and compliance operations.
- Occasionally support legal matters for other operating companies within the diagnostics and life sciences markets.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited U.S. law school.
- Active bar membership in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience with complex commercial and corporate transactions.
- At least 3 years of experience in a large law firm transactional practice.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage a global client base and multiple matters simultaneously.
- Strong communication skills, capable of working effectively with associates at all levels.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the diagnostic or in vitro diagnostics (IVD) industry.
- Experience in the medical device industry.
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations, including fraud and abuse laws (e.g., anti-kickback), FDA and CE/IVDR regulations for medical devices, and data privacy laws (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR).

Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $210,000 to $250,000 annually.
- Eligibility for bonus/incentive pay.

Location & Work Arrangements
- Remote position.
- Travel required approximately 15% or less, flexible.
