Overview
A legal team is seeking a Senior Counsel to support digital ad sales, technology, and growth/user acquisition business units. This role involves structuring, drafting, and negotiating various agreements such as insertion orders, measurement, targeting, data use agreements, and other commercial and technology contracts. The position offers the opportunity to work collaboratively across multiple teams and directly impact service growth and revenue.
This role may be hybrid based in San Francisco, Los Angeles, or New York offices, or fully remote within the United States.
Responsibilities
- Draft, negotiate, and review advertising agreements including insertion orders, sales partnership agreements, custom campaign agreements with advertising agencies, measurement vendor agreements, and data use agreements
- Advise on data use, ownership, and compliance issues related to online behavioral advertising, digital disclosures, native advertising, and internal policies
- Conduct contract and risk analysis on various matters
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders
- Support other legal team members with overflow work, client counseling, and training as needed
Requirements
- Minimum 6 years of legal experience in an established law firm and/or entertainment, media, advertising, or technology company
- Experience negotiating and drafting technology and commercial agreements
- Familiarity with digital ad sales agreements, data use agreements, and IAB 3.0 or similar interactive advertising terms
- Strong negotiation, drafting, and foundational legal skills
- Excellent communication and relationship management abilities
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Strong multitasking and time management skills
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage a high-volume workload efficiently
- Juris Doctor (JD) from a top-tier ABA-accredited U.S. law school
- Admission to the bar in at least one U.S. state
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range varies by location:
- High cost labor markets (e.g., Los Angeles, New York City, San Francisco): $186,600–$266,500 USD annually
- Colorado and Washington (excluding Seattle): $167,900–$239,900 USD annually
- Eligible for annual discretionary bonus and long-term incentive plan
