Overview
A leading national law firm is seeking a Senior eDiscovery Counsel to join its expanding team. This role is suited for an attorney with substantial law firm experience managing eDiscovery in complex litigation and investigations. The position involves advising clients on discovery strategy, information governance, and certain data privacy issues. The successful candidate will work closely with client teams and co-counsel to manage discovery workstreams, draft sophisticated discovery-related documents, collaborate with experts, and contribute to industry thought leadership.
This is a remote position. Licensure in certain jurisdictions or the ability to waive into them is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide clients with high-value legal services by identifying legal issues and offering analysis and solutions
- Advise team members on applicable laws and interpretation of legal documents, balancing practical approaches with risk management
- Keep the firm informed on new laws, regulations, and industry trends affecting the business; assist with policy development and training
- Meet firm timekeeping expectations
- Prepare and execute an annual business development plan targeting new work from new and existing clients
- Identify and pursue business development opportunities
- Lead client engagements and teams with minimal oversight
- Deliver client work product requiring little to no revisions
- Coach and mentor junior team members
- Build cohesive teams that add value to client engagements
- Provide technical knowledge and insight
- Manage interactions with a range of clients
- Maintain accurate and timely time records
- Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications
- Significant law firm experience
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree
- Admission to a U.S. bar and willingness to obtain D.C. admission if not already barred in a firm jurisdiction
- Ability to travel up to 50% domestically and internationally
Compensation
- Salary range: $310,000 - $350,000, commensurate with experience, training, skills, qualifications, and market factors
