Overview

Independent Contractor (Part-Time) — Senior Law Expert focused on AI Legal Evaluation & Enterprise Research

This role supports an advanced AI research initiative aimed at improving how AI systems perform in complex corporate legal environments. You will use your legal expertise to create realistic enterprise legal scenarios, develop high-quality reference materials, and evaluate AI-generated legal outputs used to train next-generation AI models.

Responsibilities

  • Design realistic legal scenarios covering enterprise, regulatory, transactional, and litigation matters.
  • Develop reference legal documents and model answers that reflect real-world corporate legal practice.
  • Create structured evaluation rubrics to measure legal reasoning, accuracy, and practical judgment.
  • Review AI-generated legal analyses for quality, compliance, and business applicability.
  • Build scenarios involving corporate governance, compliance, risk management, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Evaluate enterprise contracts, including:
    • Master Service Agreements (MSAs)
    • Statements of Work (SOWs)
    • Data Processing Agreements (DPAs)
    • Licensing agreements
    • M&A documentation
  • Develop legal tasks involving corporate investigations, board-level reporting, and regulated industry compliance.
  • Collaborate with AI researchers and domain experts to strengthen legal reasoning capabilities in AI systems.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree with active U.S. bar admission.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as one of the following:
    • In-house counsel at a Fortune 500 or large publicly traded company, or
    • Partner or senior associate at an AmLaw 100 (or equivalent) law firm representing enterprise clients.
  • Strong expertise in one or more of the following areas:
    • Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A)
    • Corporate & Securities Law
    • Regulatory Compliance
    • Employment Law
    • Intellectual Property
    • Data Privacy
    • Commercial Contracts
  • Excellent legal drafting, analytical reasoning, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to independently evaluate complex legal scenarios with precision and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with enterprise Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) platforms such as Ironclad, Agiloft, or Icertis.
  • Familiarity with Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) systems.
  • Experience developing legal training materials, assessments, rubrics, or educational content.
  • Background in Fortune 500 legal operations, corporate governance, or enterprise risk management.
  • Interest in AI technologies and legal innovation.

Compensation & Benefits

  • $110–$150 per hour (based on expertise and experience)
