Overview

This role offers the opportunity to join a small in-house legal team within a rapidly growing company with a global presence. The Senior Legal Counsel (Interim) will support the General Counsel and the Legal & Compliance Department by managing a broad range of legal matters in a fast-paced commercial environment. The position focuses on advancing business objectives while mitigating legal risks and ensuring compliance with applicable laws, rules, and policies.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the US-based General Counsel in planning and developing the legal function
  • Collaborate with the legal team based in Ireland, supporting a follow-the-sun working model
  • Draft, negotiate, and review a wide range of commercial contracts with customers, partners, and service providers
  • Support junior legal team members
  • Provide accurate and timely legal counsel on topics including commercial contracts, privacy and data protection, corporate governance, intellectual property, employment law, and company policies
  • Apply risk management techniques and offer proactive legal advice on commercial transactions
  • Communicate, negotiate, and resolve issues with internal colleagues and external parties
  • Manage complex matters involving multiple stakeholders
  • Maintain high standards of professional integrity and responsibility
  • Stay current on relevant legal updates and develop expertise in new practice areas
  • Work closely with the General Counsel and Legal & Compliance Department to provide consistent legal support across the organization

Requirements

  • US-qualified lawyer with 8 to 10 years of post-qualification experience, particularly in commercial contracts related to technology or SaaS
  • High professional ethics and integrity
  • Strong drive, enthusiasm to learn, and ability to work effectively in a dynamic team environment
  • Solid understanding of commercial law and its business implications
  • Sound judgment and analytical skills
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Collaborative mindset and ability to work well within a team
  • Creative problem-solving skills with a "think outside the box" approach

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting a follow-the-sun legal working methodology
  • Familiarity with intellectual property, data privacy, employee stock ownership plans (ESOP), and corporate governance

This is a US-based role supporting the General Counsel in the United States. The position is interim for 4 months with the possibility of extension.
