Senior Legal Counsel

Overview

A leading organization in the Business Services sector is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to provide business-aligned legal guidance focused on governance, compliance, and operational risk management. This role involves partnering with leaders, compliance stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to translate complex legal issues into practical recommendations. The position supports responsible execution, improved decision-making, and sustainable growth within a Business Services environment.

Location: Remote (U.S. based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available)

Compensation: $180,000 – $200,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Draft and negotiate commercial agreements and address complex legal issues in the life sciences sector
• Manage litigation and regulatory matters in collaboration with external counsel
• Provide guidance on global compliance topics in partnership with Compliance teams
• Support corporate governance and intellectual property matters, contributing to legal policies
• Develop legal training materials and implement process improvements utilizing AI technologies

Requirements

• Licensed U.S. attorney with 5+ years of experience, preferably with exposure to global life sciences legal matters
• Excellent academic record and strategic mindset for advising senior stakeholders
• Proven experience in mentoring, team building, and driving collaborative outcomes
• Extensive experience in deal negotiation, particularly in partnerships and mergers & acquisitions
• Awareness of the role of AI and technology in legal practices and governance
• Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders efficiently, with a focus on AI integration

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Active U.S. Bar membership
• Expertise in negotiation of commercial agreements
• Experience with regulatory compliance and healthcare regulation
• Knowledge of software licensing and contract management systems
• Familiarity with artificial intelligence tools, compliance management software, legal research tools, and collaboration platforms
