Overview
A legal operations department based in Tampa, Florida is seeking a Senior Litigation Attorney. This role requires a decisive, fast-moving litigator who thrives under pressure and embraces high-stakes advocacy. The ideal candidate takes immediate ownership of cases, drives strategy, and advances matters with urgency and clarity.
Responsibilities
- Lead case strategy from intake through resolution, including scoping, budgeting, and execution.
- Serve as the primary client contact, providing clear, actionable guidance and escalating only when necessary.
- Maintain momentum on cases by preventing stagnation and applying pressure on opposing parties, deadlines, and deliverables.
- Mentor and set the pace for junior attorneys and paralegals; delegate assertively and reinforce established processes and matter plans.
- Ensure discipline in timekeeping, service level agreements, budgets, and execution.
- Manage multiple issues simultaneously with urgency and adaptability.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree and active Florida Bar membership.
- Minimum of 5 years of litigation experience, preferably in commercial litigation.
- Demonstrated sound judgment under pressure.
- Strong advocacy skills including motions, depositions, hearings, negotiation, and strategy.
- Ability to work independently within a structured system.
- Comfort making fast decisions without supervision.
- Excellent communication skills, natural persuasion, and confident presence.
Preferred Qualifications
- First-chair trial or appellate experience.
- Experience with complex commercial, class action, consumer, or eminent domain litigation.
